Say the Republicans are the Rebel Alliance and the Democrats are the Death Star and Admiral Ackbar has to decide who’s gonna fight Darth Vader. You’ve got Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and another fraternity; let’s say the Romulans. So the guys who don’t fly with Red-5 are gonna be pissed for a while. They’ll also be mad. They’ll want to fly right through the Stargate on Battlestar Galactica and take a vacation to Cloud City. But by the time the game time comes along, the tie fighters forget it. They don’t care who sends the proton torpedo down the thermal exhaust port as long as they save yava-4. So that’s two things: they want to blow up the Death Star and they hate the dark side.
– Stephen Colbert, The Colbert ReportI don’t really listen to the radio much, but I’ve heard all sorts of stuff, both good and bad, about One Direction. Personally, when I’m checking out a new group I look up one of their popular songs and listen to the studio version, followed by a live performance video to see if they can really sing or they’re reliant on the post production fixes.
I have to say, One Direction is not half bad. I wouldn’t consider myself a fan and they’re far from my favorite group, but they’ve got talent and potential. You can see it in their eyes and on their faces that they really enjoy what they’re doing and that’s one of the most important things in my opinion.
On an unrelated note, it’s kind of adorable how terrible at dancing they are.
Okay, Whovians, I need your help.
I need to find a particular quote. (It’s for a biology assignment, believe it or not.) Basically, a Companion (I think it’s Amy, but I’m not sure) asked the Doctor (I think it’s Eleven, but again I’m not sure) if he just forgets the Companions once they’re gone, and the Doctor replies with something like, “I remember all of you.” If you can tell me what the quote is, I will seriously love you forever. Please? :)

Remember this six month old story about horrible working conditions at Amazon? In the US? Where there are strict labor regulations? Of course you don’t. It was everywhere…for about three days. Then everyone got bored with it.
Amazon treats employees worse than the standard in this country. Apple treats employees better than the standard in another. But Amazon gets a pass as reason gives way to myopia.
Hating on Apple isn’t helpful, but it is fashionable. Or maybe it’s just easier to focus on problems far away instead of something closer to home, where we’re empowered to actually do something about it.

I think maybe in the future I’m just going to pin up headlines that bother me all around my house and not take them down until I feel like I’ve done all I can to help or until they are resolved.

One of my friends from work used to work in an Amazon warehouse. She said she really liked it and her only complaint was really the fact that those hard concrete floors get to be very hard on your feet after a long day. She only stopped working there because she moved out of state for university. Though it is entirely possible that she just happened to work in a warehouse that was particularly good.
If I’d ask you, who is Joseph Kony, you wouldn’t know. You should. And that’s why I’m going to tell you about him.
Joseph Kony considers himself as a good Christian.
He abducts kids, little girls go in prostitution, little boys become kid soldiers and are forced to do horrible things, things a kid isn’t supposed to do. Neither is an adult, no one is. He started the LRA, Lord’s Resistance Army. 20.000 kids have been kidnapped, this needs to stop. And that’s why we need to Make Kony Famous. Let the world know about the horrible things he does, and the thousands of children and parents suffering.So come together, at the April the 20th. That is the day, we will cover the night. People in all kind of cities, all over the world meet at sundown & cover the city with posters and stickers of Joseph Kony. To Make Kony Famous.
